This is for Beyond the Sword expansion version 3.17.
The map is large and the map is Earth2.
Difficulty Level = Prince
Speed = Epic

The only victory condition enabled is Space Race.

Your leader is:

Your starting location:

That is a BEAUTIFUL starting location, IMHO.  I didn't regenerate the map (this was the initial location)

Again, only a SPACE RACE victory condition will win.  Highest Normalized Score with this victory condition will be declared BTS GOTM Champion for February.

When you complete the game, take a screenshot of the Victory screen where it lists your leadership counterpart in history. You may post the screenshot in the GOTM thread and then Email your final save (hopefully one turn just before victory) to gotm@1bcciv.com. Saves should be named as follows: [username]Feb09BTS.CivBeyondSwordSave

Submissions will be accepted until the end of February.

What are the rules?
The rules are fairly simple: Play fairly.

This means that you play within the spirit of the competition. As it is a friendly competition, we like to believe that there is no real incentive to cheat - but unfortunately, people do. Any persons found to be cheating will have their games removed, and there is a strong possibility that they will be banned from participating in the future.

Cheating includes (and is not limited to):

1. Playing the game multiple times and submitting the best effort (or even playing to get knowledge of the map, the replaying then starting the game again).
2. Using any sort of programs to edit the game or save files.
3. Altering the XML or using other mods that give you an unfair advantage.
4. Reloading an earlier save-file and replaying turns in a different way. The only time you may reload a save file is to start a new play session, and you must use the save file from the end of your previous session.

Also, if in doubt, ask. If you think you have found a new loop-hole or exploit, then we strongly suggest that you ask as to its legallity before you use it. The aim of the competition is not to see who can exploit the rules, and as such, we reserve the right to disqualify submissions based on exploits that are discovered later.

Good luck and Enjoy!!

As I created this, I feel its honorable to take myself out of the running this month.  That gold mine in the capital will REALLY help the technology pursuits.  Ditto if you drop hamlets on those flood plains.

I played about 20 minutes worth to make sure the map didn't suck too badly.  This could be a fun one.

Enjoy!

How many civs... good question.  Whatever the default is for a large world.  9 I think?

Earth2 map.  I'm paraphrasing from memory, but I think its SIMILAR to a map of the Earth, but it somewhat randomized and altered things when the map it created.  You might be able to make out general real-life continents, but its somewhat different when the map generates.  If you want to know more than that... just play it.

19 century Tones?  I bet thats possible.  That'd be quite a Space Race, but doable with that starting location.  It'll be awfully tempting to go crush people with Cossacks though.  Just for fun.

Cossacks... who needs 'em? Two civs have bitten the dust already and I've only just invented swordsmen. OK I know I should be tech trading with them but I just ...can't...help...it.

Reinstalled everything (can't get the FfH mod to work though). Played a bit yesterday. Still loathe epic speed, but it looks like an interesting map. I may make it past the BC's, er, into the CE.
