When you promote, say, a seige unit to barrage III, does it get the culminated bonus of +100% collateral damage or is it just 50% as the Barrage III description says? Thanks for the help, I am new.

I always found those to be a bit confusing myself. Will wait to hear what others say, but I tend to think that they are not cumulative, i.e., it is the lower value.

I believe all the bonuses are cumulative, but based on the original value only.  For example... if you have something at a strength of 10, plus 10% strength, that gives 11 obviously.  If you later add 20% strength, thats based on the original 10, not the new 11.  Hope that makes sense.

Ya it is definately based on the original.  I had this question on my mind back in the day and tested it out.  When you hold your cursor over the person your about to attack (like hold the left click button over them) it will show you the 'number' you have to attack with (I mean number as in the combination of strength, combat bonuses versus unit types, defense bonuses, etc).  If you just have the +30% strength bonus on a 10 strength unit, it will appear as 13.

Wait a second. I just realised my real question. If I have city raider I and II, do I get 25% or 45% bonus on my base?

You get 45%. The values given for each promotion level when looked at individually are just for what that one level gives you on top of what the previous level is already giving you.

With any unit selected you can press "g" or click on the relevant button on screen to enter the "goto" mode and then hover over an enemy unit to see a break down of the combat odds for a fight between those two units. This will tell you what bonuses you would receive if you attacked and will show +45% for attacking a city if that unit is a city raider II.

...now go get attacking!!
