ok, lets see, off the top of my head... There was an error in the early set of disk's copy protection scheme that required you to insert the "install" disk, not the one labeled "play" in order to "play" the game. Error message was something to the effect of Wrong disk... insert CD
However, since you haven't told us what the error message is... we will have problems stabbing at the dark. So load the game to the error message, and either type it in to us here exactly as it errors, or take a screen shot and attach it to your post.
If it isn't the copy protect scheme gone wrong, some basic system specs might be helpful... either manufacturer, and model, and what OS, or CPU, GPU, and Memory total, and OS
examples something like:
HP xx324 running windows XP home
or
Core2 duo 2.4 ghz
9800 gt
4 gigs
Vista home
