I run windows XP and recently got Civilization complete
it installed fine and is the best iv played so far
the next time i tried to play it said it couldnt authenticate the disk and said this twice
i reinstalled the program (which took ages)
again the same thing happened after my first play

I was about to ask why it is doing it but it launched today, anyone know why it doesnt want to launch most of the time?

Welcome to the forums!

hmmm, your running into copy protection errors... Are you running anything that emulates cd/dvd drives? Is the disk in the same drive that installed it? Do you have anything that would modify drive letters of your cd-rom? err... a flash drive hooked up while installing that isn't there now / one there now that wasn't during install? Is your disk dirty/scratched? Does your drive show any other signs of impending death?

Mayhap your drive is slower and it's going to check for the disk and it's not finding it because your drive hadn't gotten up to speed?

Pay attention to what's running at the times this happens and the times this doesn't. Also, if you've just placed the disc in the drive to play or if it's already in there.  If you're putting the disc in the drive to play, are you clicking 'Play' from the splash screen, or from a desktop link.

And.. welcome to the forum!
