Problme With Civilization IV!

Hello im new to the forums! Now i have bought the Civilization IV game and i have installed on my PC... i have even installed the Direct X 9.0c ... but when i try to run the game ... i can't because i receive an error about my graphics! I know the recomeded system requirments! And i have them! But i can't play this game please help me!

alright, in order to help normally we need some system specs... you say you meet the minimum requirements, so we will assume you should be able to run it. Since you say it says a graphics issue, What is your chipset? When is the last time you updated your graphics driver? Is it onboard graphics, or a separate card? Are you able to run any other games? Do you have the latest critical updates for your OS? It might be helpful to know if it's XP/Vista... Since the game installed and it sounds like it went installed ok... try downloading the patch and running it... If all these following things don't help... come back with system specs. 1: download, and install patch from distributor, try game 2: graphics driver from board manufacture. try game. 3: graphics driver from chipset maker if it's a higher version number. try game... 4: windows updates. Try game Addit: installing directx9. breaks directx10... so if you have any games that need directx10... and hardware for it, (Fallout3 comes to mind.) It will not work right now and you will have to install directx10. pulled some hairs out on that one a little while back...

I have installed the game with no problems! This is what i have : Windows XP Professional XP 2002 AMD Athlon (tm) 64 Processor 3000+ 1.80 GHz , 1.50 GB Of RAM I will download the patch!
