Brought up in this thread, and having the need for it cemented in stone by having Tones reference one of the more popular bands of the last decade as if it was some horrible secret ().

This is the guilty pleasures music video thread.

To prevent overload, I ask that you post no more than 1 video per day. Also, this can't be a well known current band or song. Something thats uncool to listen to (No... Coldplay doesn't count, Tonesy ). Something you would be embarrassed if someone caught you singing along to it.

I'm talking about Scipio's Britney Spears collection. LC's habit of belting out Abba's greatest hits in his boxer shorts. Tosk driving in his Jeep Cherokee deluxe cranking out Indian music. No, not those Indians, I'm talking India-Indian music with lots of sitars and lots of noise. Yeah, set it free Tosk!

Post stuff you really like, that's uncool. Be brave. Go ahead. You can do it.

I bet some (most?) of our European 1BC friends have heard this one, but I bet I'm the only American who has. I could be wrong, but that's my bet of 1 imaginary dollar. Any Americans prove me wrong?

The Danish band, MLTR (later admitted that it stands for Michael Learns to Rock, after Michael Jackson).

I don't know if this would be UNCOOL to listen to in Europe, since its Danish, but the couple of my American friends that have heard me listening to it (and had never heard of it before) thought it was cheesey and sappy. I, on the other hand, love it. I have sung it to my daughters as they fall asleep. I still sit my 5 year old daughter Anna on my lap and listen to it on my PC as she loves it too.

Ah.. L'Amour. Or, whatever the Danish equivalent would be.

Well then.  I'll plan my own future related confession, since by my rules, I'm allowed only 1 song a day.

Who is next?  Confess!!!

Tones, had you heard MLTR before?  What about that song specifically?

No, I hadn't, and I don't want to hear any more thanks. Great for pre-teenage girlies, but for me - I want to barf. Sorry.

The short translation to the late 1960's song: the solution to the world's problems as proposed to U Thant: let them knit.

You've probably heard of Kate Bush's version of "Wuthering Heights" but have you heard the China Drum version? I am not sure if this is classed as a guilty pleasure or not but it is not really seen as a "cool" song normally.

I love it.

Then my guilty pleasure wins! One of my coworkers in Singapore is from the Philippines and he told me that that song is huge for Karaoke in the Philippines. That didn't comfort me and may have cemented the guilty pleasure status.

Then again... maybe Rabi's guilty pleasure wins.

My turn to unleash the inner hippie.

Snataum Kaur.

She is a Sikh. I love this song and several others of hers. I 1st heard her music at a couple of meditation retreats in Colorado and eventually bought 3 of her CDs and listened to her twice in concert in Boulder, CO, which can be pretty hippie-ish, I suppose.

We have quite a diverse group of guilty pleasure music so far.

Who is next to confess!? If you thought about posting something, and then decided against it... thats exactly the stuff we're looking for.
