Options I set:

Hippus traits and the leader's traits:

NOTE: The Hippus starts with horses in its capital! (CIV trait - regardless of if there arehorses around)

When you complete the game, take a screenshot of the Victory screen where it lists your leadership counterpart in history. You may post the screenshot in the GOTM thread and then Email your final save (hopefully one turn just before victory) to gotm@1bcciv.com. Saves should be named as follows: [username]Jul10BTS.CivBeyondSwordSave

Submissions will be accepted through July 2010

What are the rules?
The rules are fairly simple: Play fairly.

This means that you play within the spirit of the competition. As it is a friendly competition, we like to believe that there is no real incentive to cheat - but unfortunately, people do. Any persons found to be cheating will have their games removed, and there is a strong possibility that they will be banned from participating in the future.

Cheating includes (and is not limited to):

1. Playing the game multiple times and submitting the best effort (or even playing to get knowledge of the map, the replaying then starting the game again).
2. Using any sort of programs to edit the game or save files.
3. Altering the XML or using other mods that give you an unfair advantage.
4. Reloading an earlier save-file and replaying turns in a different way. The only time you may reload a save file is to start a new play session, and you must use the save file from the end of your previous session.

Also, if in doubt, ask. If you think you have found a new loop-hole or exploit, then we strongly suggest that you ask as to its legallity before you use it. The aim of the competition is not to see who can exploit the rules, and as such, we reserve the right to disqualify submissions based on exploits that are discovered later.

Good luck and Enjoy!!

Started playing, lost a 50+ exp horseman attacking my neighbor's capital with a 99.4% of winning odd. You gotta love that kind of luck.

"BOOOooo!" That's like the old luck in Civ III where a spearman takes out your modern armor.

Would anyone like to update us on where you're at in the game?

I'm about turn 250 and menacing my neighbor with Larry, Curly and Moe, the hill giants that come from one of the wonders that I can't think of the name right now. I have been using one of the religion spreading guys as a medic to heal up the giants in enemy territory as they pummel a city over and over when they reinforce it. "Thanks" for the gobs of XP, neighbor!

I'd share more, but it might give advantages to others, so it'll have to wait.

As always, I declare myself ineligible to win this since I created it.

I got a response from Carlucas that he is playing and I sent a few messages to some others, so hopefully we'll get some decent participation on this one.

I always send my warriors out in small stacks of at least 3, if not 4, with maybe a scout. If a bear or spider or whatever kills your warrior, you can finish it off with the others.

I think if you send them out 1 at a time, they will all die, at least in my experience.

The first one that got killed was in a stack of two. The second two were in a stack of four

The scout had just achieved his shelf life.

Don't you mean the Hippus?

I'll continue onward when I get the chance.
