My PC is pretty close to state of the art, and there is a 20-30 second lag going on in the 20th century between turns. I hadn't seen this since I had an old PC. So this mod and this game can be quite complicated with a huge map and with all those civs out there.

Tones, I don't know if this is relevant to you or not, but my friend Morienglyndwr who shows up here once in a blue moon to play the GOTMs, kept having crashes and he uninstalled/reinstalled the mod several times to no avail. He ended up having some program installed to make the Civ terrain prettier (Blue Marble) that must have been causing the problems, because he uninstalled that and then reinstalled the mod and it fixed all his problems.

I thought I'd mention it on the off chance that you have Blue Marble or some other similar thing installed.

Yes, I wondered myself if that was the problem. The damage was such that I am now two system restores, 2 driver updates and a nvlddmkm fix (which involved changing the power supply settings) down the road and I think I now have a stable system - at least the screen hasn't flashed purple and blacked out for, hmmm, must be 15 minutes or so.

I can't trust this LoR version and may have to revert to v0.9.8c which was rock solid.

Hey man it's not your fault. I just reloaded this version, without the "advanced graphics" and five turns into a trial game the computer crashed and I was back to square one with my graphic driver problems. This may, or may not, be coincidence. I have reloaded the drivers from the Nvidia site for the third time and I've had enough. Maybe it will turn out that my graphics card is just turning bad... it happens. But I am avoiding that particular game like the plague.

Tones, my friend had to go to the Control Panel and uninstall Blue Marble.  Telling LoR to not install the LoR graphics didn't help.  It seems completely incompatible with Blue Marble.

I won it via Space Race.  Had a few late wars, but I totally ran away with it and didn't like all the extra civs out there.  I had 9 that capitulated to me and something like another 22 to go.  'Boo' on that aspect of this mod.

It was a litte bit of fun to stat jack wonders in my capital city.  Check out all the ones I built:

Which allowed for gobs of great leaders with our +100% great leader trait.

44 great leaders in my capital.  That's gotta be the most I've ever made.

So stat jacking great leaders was a little entertaining, but otherwise I didn't care a lot for the mod.  Too slow going.  Too many civs almost takes military victory conditions out of it.  Too much revolution which encourages you to raise every city you take and drop your own settler.

My overall impression of this particular mod:  Meh.
(attaching save game)

I agree. Once again, the previous version of this mod seemed to have a better balance (aside from not trashing your graphics drivers, grrrr)

How on earth did you manage to build so many Wonders in one city? There's something seriously wrong there. Oh yeah, I forgot, this was your SECOND attempt

Tech lead plus getting bureaucracy so the capital is cranking out hammers. Likewise all the great leaders being spawned, plus the Pyramids and representation equaled me stayed far ahead in techs.

Oh yeah, and that too.
