Nuclearcow seems up for it, and has goaded me, reluctantly, to set this up. Who knows where it will end but here it begins.

I am only doing this because I think there is a chance that I know more about this mod than NC does. If it were otherwise I know I'd be trashed. Well.... maybe.

I'd rather have played a pbem but that involves insane amounts of time and fish dinners (ref jerm for info)

On the plus side, it does mean that anyone else can take part and try for the highest score... so feel free to humiliate all of us.

Before we start NC, I'd like to say I am considering either a small or standard world at Prince level with everything activated (revolutions, legends, superspies, techleaking, etc.) and a random starting civ. If you have any objections, speak now, and I may feel free to ignore them

Well, come on folks, I am up against a gotm Colonel fer chrissakes!

I'd ask for a standard map at least. The rest is up to you. I'll have to go find the Legends of Revolutions mod again when time comes.

You're talking me up, Tones, just to lull me into a false sense of confidence before you beat me mercilessly.

I just completed a victory on Monarch level, so I could give this one a go. Surely cannot promise you all that I would finish it on your timeframe though...

I think I d/l-ed it. I'll have to go find the mod later and start it up.

LC, please join in, as well as Dave and anyone else that has a mild interest.

Edit: In case this saves anyone time, here's the link to the mod: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=13159

Absolutely. This is unofficial, so there is no timeframe.

If you are new to this mod there are a few things you should know:

revolutions is turned on, so your cities are more likely to revolt the further away from your capital they are. Other factors are competing religions, civics, buildings, enemy culture, happiness, civ traits and garrison size; however, revolutions affect the AI equally and can be a great opportunity for conquest;

the tech tree is subtly different in many ways;

the "Legends" bit is fulfilled by legendary units you can build - but be sure you can afford them; they are good but not game-changing;

superspies is turned on so that spies have a load more powers in the later game but doesn't affect the early/mid game much;

there are some new units introduced to fill the gaps in the original BTS - hint: one of the key new units is the Machine Gun

Nice, I approve of the choice of Legends of Revolution, great mod. I play this exclusively over original BTS since revisiting the game.

I'll download this and give it a go. Though, my games started to games finished ratio has been lower than optimal recently, heh. No time limit helps out there though!

Hurrah. That is excellent news. I have paused around 600AD with some big decisions to make. I don't think it's much of a spoiler to say the Vikings are on the same continent and are an aggressive bunch You'll find out soon enough.

This ruined my afternoon/evening yesterday. I played a few hours and got up through about the 1800s.

Apparently I still had LoR installed from some past GOTM here. I vaguely remembered some bits and pieces about the game, such as raze cities rather than take them, and drop your own settler. I remembered some hard lessons on causing revolutions.

It definitely is more challenging than BTS on the same difficulty and then some. I'm not sure I'm going to win. So there.
